Taking Your RV to a Monster Truck Show

Monster truck events like Monster Jam, with famous trucks such as Grave Digger, draw big crowds to arenas across the country, including the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo, Ohio. For families who love both big engines and road trips, turning a show into an RV adventure can be a memorable way to travel. A little planning makes the difference between a stressful night and a relaxed one.

Plan parking before you leave

Downtown arenas rarely have space for full-size motorhomes or a truck towing a travel trailer. Before you set out, look for a campground or RV park within a reasonable drive of the venue. Then drive in with a smaller vehicle, use a rideshare, or ask the campground about shuttle options. Check the venue's official website for current parking rules, show dates and ticket details, because these change from tour to tour.

Pack for a loud, long day

  • Hearing protection: Monster truck shows are very loud, so bring earplugs or earmuffs, especially for children.
  • Weather-ready layers: Spring and winter tour stops in the Midwest can mean cold mornings and slushy roads.
  • Easy meals: A stocked fridge and a simple stovetop dinner back at the RV saves money after the show.

Get the rig ready for distance

Toledo is a long haul from Idaho, crossing mountain passes and open plains. Before a cross-country trip, have your tyres, brakes, hitch and roof seals checked. Our service and parts team can help you work through a pre-trip inspection. If you are still deciding which rig suits a family road trip, browse our used RV inventory for towable and motorized options at a range of sizes.

Traveling to an event in your own RV means your bed, kitchen and bathroom go wherever the action is. With a sensible route, a booked campsite and a well-maintained rig, the drive can be as much fun as the show itself.
